KNIFE SHEATH WITH CHRISTINE RUTHERFORD. Do you have a knife needing a protective home? Or do you want to make a better sheath than the yucky kydex ones that come with new knives? If you're a knife maker, this is the workshop for you. Join Christine to learn the basics from start to finish. Christine will show tips and tricks and also 'dont's' of sheath making. In this workshop you will make either a two piece or a fold over sheath for your standard knife. You will learn how to make a welt so that that sharp blade will not cut the stitches in your sheath. Bring your favourite knife to work with, with the full length to not exceed 30cm. You will be working with 3 to 3.5mm natural veg tanned cow hide and will be dyeing or antiquing on the day. You have the choice to decorate your sheath with simple stamping (embossing) prior to colouring. Next Class is on March 16th, Saturday morning 8.00am to 11.30pm Where: Leather Direct 2/52 Frobisher St Osborne Park Maximum of 5 people per class.
